X. Jesus' Clothes are Taken Away

Bruised but not broken Jesus stands still as the soldiers strip away His garments.  Greedy for gain the soldiers will play dice for His mantle, which is symbolized by the dice in the top right hand corner.  The soldiers look at Jesus and each other and see only a victim - a man that they can take from.  Jesus stands with His Arms down to show His vulnerability and peacefulness.  Like a lamb taken to slaughter Jesus does not cry out but meekly makes the ultimate sacrifice.  Whereas the soldiers are ready to take, Jesus is ready to give His Life away for us.
