John Wicinski 97, beloved husband of the late Alice (nee: Bondel). Dear father of Lucia Dominak (Stephen) and Joseph. Loving grandfather of Mark (Brittany). Dear brother of Irene Chalko, Clem, and Art. Preceded in death by siblings Mary Choromanski, Sophie Sarnowski, Martin, Roman, and Carl. He grew up in Cleveland and joined the Navy in July of 1940, serving as a gunner's mate on the USS Trenton and the USS Tucson. His wartime experience on board the Tucson is detailed in the book "Cleveland in World War II" (page 100). He returned from the service in July of 1946 and married his childhood sweetheart in 1947. They built a house and moved to Garfield Hts. in 1950. John was employed by the Newburgh and South Shore Railroad as foreman of the Car Shop prior to his retirement in 1981. In retirement he enjoyed fishing, watching his grandson grow up, and attending numerous ship reunions of the Trenton, first with his wife, and later with his son. Marjorie Odeal(nee Looman), age 94, of Garfield Heights, OH, died peacefully on October 23, 2018 at Villa St. Joseph home. Beloved wife of the late Erwin; devoted mother of Erwin J. (Kathleen) and David H.; cherished grandmother of Laurel A. Maher (James) and Brian J. Odeal (Maria); loving great grandmother of Alex and Abby Maher, and Jack, Benjamin, and Joshua Odeal. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Therese Church, Granger Rd and 105th St., Garfield Hts., Ohio 44125 at 10:30 am, Saturday, November 10, 2018. CALLEN, (nee Zimmerman), age 101.  Beloved wife of the late Earl R.; loving mother of Virginia and James (Deborah); cherished grandmother of Rebecca and Emily (Theresa); dear sister of eight (all deceased).  Agnes was a volunteer at Marymount Hospital and the Senior Center, belonged to the Garfield Hts. Thelma Kilfoyle (nee Salwan) age 95, took her final breath surrounded by her loving family on September 21 at her home in Sagamore Hills. Beloved wife of Frank W. (deceased). Treasured mother of Margaret (Peggie) Sikon (Michael, deceased); Patricia Coyne (Robert, deceased); and Ellen Linhart (Richard). Cherished grandmother of Missy Sikon; Meg Popa (George); Jonathan Coyne (Jennifer); Kelly de Roulet ("Steph"); Trish Rasniewski (Chris); and Michael Linhart. Loving great-grandmother of Brayden, Ellyse, Michael, Rhys, Oliver, Robert, Adelaide, and Scarlett. Dear sister of Joseph Salwan (deceased) (Lillian, deceased); Rose Agnes Bastian (deceased) (Robert); and Rosemary Holobinko (Paul). Adored aunt and friend to many. Thelma took the perils of life and created a legacy of love and grace, kindness and compassion, and hard work and perseverance. She will forever be remembered for making every celebration sweet, making strangers feel like family, and faithfully cheering on her Cleveland Indians. Francis C. “Digger” Bican, 81, of Garfield Heights passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 19, 1936 in Cleveland to the late William and Mary Bican. Beloved husband of 59 years to Carol (nee Vank); loving father of Denise Jendre (Andrew), Tim Bican (Betty) and Kelly Tarnowski (Jeff); dear grandfather of Kevin Vencl, Valerie Basch (Ryan), Jason Jendre (Lindy), Erik Jendre (Sara), Luke Tarnowski (fiancé Sarah), Allyson Bican, Travis Tarnowski, Holly Bican, Sam Tarnowski and Nathan Tarnowski; great-grandfather of Aria and Jolee Basch. Nancy P. Zielinsky (nee Stucker), age 78, passed away peacefully at Ames Family Hospice of the Western Reserve on July 4, 2018 to join the Lord. Our beloved Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and wife. She was born in Cleveland, OH and was raised by her two uncles, James and Paul, in Garfield Heights. Married to her husband, Rudolph, for 57 beautiful years. She was a loving mother of Mary (husband, Matthew), Patricia (husband, Joseph), Christine (husband, Paul), and John (wife, Theresa). Devoted grandmother to ten children: Kevin (wife, Meghan), Alex, Joshua, Katelin (husband, Matthew), Evan, Madeline, Theresa, and Alayna. Doting great-grandmother of Cayden and Lucas. Nancy also was a loving sister to Sally. Nancy cherished all her family and friends of over 50 years, and they have been a constant support of comfort throughout her life. In Nancy's own words, "I love you all, goodbye." Lastly, a quote that Nancy lived by and that all her friends and family saw her illuminate in her life, "The sunshine of her smile made life worthwhile."
